Connecticut Emergency Rental Assistance

As of the 15th of February in 2022, the UniteCT program will no longer accept new applications for rent and electric assistance, nor will it accept re-certifications. Applicants who already have a Rent Relief Case # will have until the 31st of March, 2022 to finish their applications. Cases that have not been finished in their entirety by the 31st of March 2022 will be withdrawn from the review process. Cases that have been finished are reviewed in accordance with the program parameters and the availability of financing from the Treasury.

On behalf of the United States Treasury, the Department of Housing is in charge of managing the UniteCT Program. Families in Connecticut that have been financially impacted by the COVID-19 epidemic are eligible to receive assistance from UniteCT in the form of rental and electricity assistance of up to $15,000. UniteCT is contributing to the stabilization of the rental housing market in Connecticut by offering financial support to households with annual incomes of up to 80 percent of the Area Median Income (as established by HUD) (AMI).
