The Mercer County Department of Human Services has been awarded funding by the United States Department of the Treasury to assist landlords and tenants in our community with rental relief under the Emergency Rental Assistance Program (ERAP). In collaboration with the Mercer County Board of Social Services (MCBOSS), the Mercer County Department of Human Services, through its Office on Homeless Services, is reopening this program to assist renter households in Mercer County that have been impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic with unpaid rent or utility bills. Applications will be accepted on an ongoing basis beginning Aug. 1, 2021, until all monies are depleted.
To be eligible, households in Mercer County must demonstrate that at least one member of the household qualified for unemployment benefits, experienced a reduction in income, incurred significant costs directly or indirectly as a result of COVID-19, and can demonstrate a risk of homelessness or housing instability. Income must be at or below 80% of Area Median Income (AMI), with priority given to households earning less than 30% of AMI.
